Committees

ACCCTEP is seeking volunteers to serve on ACCCTEP standing committees, serve as regional representatives, and/or as professional teacher education experts. Below is a list of ACCCTEP committees and contact information. Please contact us if you have any questions or complete the volunteer application below and we will contact you.   

Advocacy & Legislative Committee

Chair: Vice-President Steve Bautista, Ed.D.

This committee’s responsibilities will include developing, updating and enacting the ACCCTEP strategic plan related to advocacy for policy and legislation, identifying positions though a representative process; advocacy among the university teacher education programs, the professional organizations related to teacher education both at the state and national level; seeking and supporting funding initiatives, including soliciting grant or legislative funding for ACCCTEP operations. Communications/Membership Committee

Chair: Janice Chan Jefferis, Ed.

This committee’s responsibilities will include responsibility for maintaining communication with the members through 1) the production and dissemination of the ACCCTEP newsletter, 2) maintaining/updating the ACCCTEP website, 3) maintain and utilize a communication network comprised of ACCCTEP Regional Liaisons (see below), 4) lead the annual membership drive. Finance Committee

Chair: Treasurer Leticia Rojas
Members: Two other Board Members with President as Ex-Officio (per bylaws)


The Finance Committee is responsible for developing and reviewing fiscal procedures, fundraising plans, and the annual budget. The board must approve the budget and all expenditures must be within budget. Any major change in the budget must be approved by the board or the Executive Committee. The fiscal year shall be July 1 through June 30. Annual reports are required to be submitted to the board showing income, expenditures, and pending income. The financial records of the organization are public information and shall be made available to the membership, board members, and the public. Regional Caucuses/Regional Liaisons

Board will identify geographical regions for collaboration/ communication and supporting development of teacher pathway programs and maintaining regular communication with the field. Regions such as Far North, Bay Area, Central Valley, Central Coast, LA, OC, and San Diego will serve as regional hubs or communities of practice, soliciting issues and input from the field to inform Communications and Advocacy Committees and support membership drives.   • Greater Sacramento: including American River College, Cosumnes River      College, Folsom Lake College, Lake Tahoe Community College, Sacramento City College, Sierra College, Woodland Community College, and Yuba College
  • Northern Coastal: including Mendocino College and College of the Redwoods
  • Northern Inland including Butte College, Feather River College, Lassen College, Shasta College, and College of the Siskiyous

Region B is comprised of the following colleges:

  • East Bay: including College of Alameda, Berkeley City College, Chabot      College, Contra Costa College, Diablo Valley College, Laney College, Las      Positas College, Los Medanos College, Merritt College, and Ohlone College
  • Mid-Peninsula: including Cañada College, City College of San Francisco, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College
  • North Bay: including College of Marin, Napa Valley College, Santa Rosa      Junior College, and Solano Community College
  • Santa Cruz/Monterey: including Cabrillo College, Hartnell College, and      Monterey Peninsula College
  • Silicon Valley: including DeAnza College, Evergreen Valley College,      Foothill College, Gavilan College, Mission College, San Jose City College,      and West Valley College

Region C is comprised of the following colleges:

  • Central Valley: including Bakersfield College, Cerro Coso Community      College, Clovis Community College, Fresno City College, Merced College,      Modesto Junior College, Porterville College, Reedley College, San Joaquin      Delta College, College of the Sequoias, Taft College, West Hills College      (Coalinga), and West Hills College (Lemoore)
  • Mother Lode: including Columbia College

Region D is comprised of the following regions and colleges:

  • South Central Coast: including Allan Hancock College, Antelope Valley      College, College of the Canyons, Cuesta College, Moorpark College, Oxnard College, Santa Barbara City College, and Ventura College

Region E is comprised of the following colleges:

  • San Diego/Imperial: including Cuyamaca College, Grossmont College,      Imperial Valley College, Mira Costa College, Palomar College, San Diego      City College, San Diego Continuing Education, San Diego Mesa College, San Diego Miramar College, and Southwestern College

Region F is comprised of the following colleges:

  • Inland Empire/Desert: including Barstow Community College, Chaffey      College, Copper Mountain College, Crafton Hills College, College of the      Desert, Moreno Valley College, Mt. San Jacinto College, Norco College,      Palo Verde College, Riverside City College, San Bernardino Valley College,      and Victor Valley College

Region G is comprised of the following colleges:

  • Los Angeles: including Cerritos, Citrus College, Compton College, East      Los Angeles College, El Camino College, Glendale Community College, Long Beach City College, Los Angeles City College, Los Angeles Harbor College, Los Angeles Mission College, Los Angeles Pierce College, Los Angeles Southwest College, Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, Los Angeles Valley College, Mt. San Antonio College, Pasadena City College, Rio Hondo College, Santa Monica College, and West Los Angeles College
  • Orange County: including Coastline Community College, Cypress College,      Fullerton College, Golden West College, Irvine Valley College, North      Orange Continuing Education, Orange Coast College, Saddleback College, Santa Ana College, and Sanhttp://undefined/tiago Canyon College

Technical Assistance/Professional Development Committee

Chair: President Steve Bautista, Ed.D.

Members: 3-4 from General Membership

This committees responsibilities include: receiving and processing requests for technical assistance from the field, developing and maintaining a list of professional experts that can assist in technical assistance requests, developing workshops/presentations that may address a common regional need, and planning the annual convening conference portion.
